أعلنت Google و Ubisoft أن Google’s Project Stream سيختبر قدرات بث اللعب لديه عبر متصفح Chrome باستخدام لعبة Assassin’s Creed Odyssey القادمة ابتداءً من 5 أكتوبر.
حيث صرح كل من Google و Ubisoft بشكل منفصل حول المشروع، مع التركيز على التطورات التكنولوجية التي تجعل بث لعبة مثل Odyssey على متصفح أمراً ممكناً. وعلى الرغم من أن الأماكن الشاغرة المتاحة للمشاركة في هذه التجربة محدودة، إلا أن الأشخاص الذين يتم قبولهم سيتمكنوا من لعب اللعبة مجاناً لفترة محدودة.
كما أصدرت الشركتين عرضاً للعبة Odyssey وهي تعمل عبر Project Stream والذي نرى فيه ’آليكسوس‘ يستكشف اليونان وينخرط في معارك بحرية وغيره الكثير. وعلى الرغم من أن الفيديو يبدو بأنه يعمل بسلاسة نسبية على دقة 1080p/60fps، إلا أنه ليس كافياً للتأكد من أن اللعبة لم تتعرض لأية مشاكل وفقاً مما نراه.
Requirements outlined by Google include users to be US residents that are 17 or older, a computer with an internet connection capable of 25 megabits per second, a controller or mouse and keyboard for input, as well as a Google account, an Ubisoft account, and the Google Chrome web browser.
“Because of the continued growth in bandwidth, computing power, and storage, Ubisoft firmly believes one of those disruptive technologies is streaming, which will not only change the way you play games, but also the way we create them,” said Ubisoft. “Only a select few will be participating in Project Stream, but everyone can experience the journey of either Alexios or Kassandra when Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launches October 5 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.”
